We put together a little FAQ sheet to help with some frequently asked questions you may have.

What is the difference between PUL Quick-Dry and Fitted Diapers?

PUL diapers have a waterproof barrier outer layer.  Fitted diapers are made out of only absorbent material and need a cover.  PUL diapers are not very breathable so they are great during the day when you will be changing often.  Fitted diapers are more absorbent are are breathable, making them great for night use.

Will my Bare Bum Diaper come with an insert/soaker pad?

Yes!!!!  We didn't think it was fair to sell diaper that you also need to purchase insert/soaker pads for.  For some people Cloth Diapers are a bit confusing and overwhelming so we did not want to add in more items they needed to think about.  Inserts do come also with our Fitted Diapers.  They do not come with our Wool Covers or our PUL Covers.

What do I do with the Covers?

You will put these covers over a Fitted Diaper or a Prefold.  The PUL Covers have no absorbent material in them.

What is Wool?  And won't it be itchy and Hot?

Wool is a natural waterproof fiber and can hold up to 30% of its weight in water before feeling damp to the touch.  It is tough, durable and stretchy and naturally anti-microbial and anti-bacterial.  This makes it  a more natural option for a diaper cover.

How and why do I Lanolize my Wool?

See wash care for Lanolizing instructions.  Lanolin occurs in Wool naturally.  With usuage it wears out and will need to be re-lanolized when cover starts to leak.  We offer Eucalan Wool Wash for this up keep.

How many diapers will I need?

On average, Newborn's will go through 10-12 diapers a day.  We think 24 diapers is a good stash to start out with.  This will give you two full days of diapers.  You can get away with fewer diapers, but keep in mind you will be washing more often.   Babies will go through less diapers as they get older.

How long will my baby fit in your sizes?

Every baby is different.  Our Newborn size is a TRUE Newborn size.   Baby will be in this size from birth to three or four months of age.  Small size will be from birth (if this is the size you are starting with) to around nine months.  Medium will be from around seven months to toddler.  We offer larger sizes to accomodate larger babies, although we find most babies don't grow out of a size Medium.  Please keep in mind this is just a rough estimate to give you an idea of how long diapers will fit.

How will I know when to go into the next size?

If the diaper still seems to fit well but is leaking excessively, this is a major sign.   Our diapers are so adjustable, you will notice that they will grow out of the rise before the waist.  If the top of the bum crack is peeking out...it's time.

How do I store my soiled diapers?

We offer a dirty diaper bag which is known as a Wet Bag.  These can be kept near your changing table or toliet for easy access.  It is similar to a garbage bag,  but has a zipper that keeps all of the smell in.  When time to launder,  unzip, dump and drop in...Wet Bag and all!

My baby has pooped, now what?

We don't start rinsing our diapers until solid food as been intruduced.  It's just breastmilk or formula!  Once eating solids, spray off poo into toilet using our diaper sprayerWring out any excess water and throw into Wet Bag.

 Don't cloth diapers leak excessively?

Not at all.  If you are comparing them to disposables, which can hold 100 times it weight, then yes...cloth diapers leak more.  Our motto is "Our cloth diapers will last as long as a diaper should be on".

What do I do when I am out and about?

Cloth diapers are easy to use when you are away from your home as well.  Instead of throwing a diaper away, just stick it in one of our Wet bags and bring home to launder.

Do we have a Bum Spray to help wipe off baby's bum when changing a diaper?

Yes, we like to use this recipe.  Please note: If using diaper cream that has tea tree oil already in the cream we recommend not adding it to the spray because it could lead to extra drying of the skin.

3 parts Water,  1 part Aloe Vera Gel, 1-4 drops Tea Tree Oil, few drops of Baby Wash/Shampoo

**Put this in a spray bottle for a baby and then put it in a pump for toddlers**

We also now sell Sammy's Wipe Beans.  These great little beans are simple to use....Drop one bean into a cup of boiling water.  Allow to cool and add into a spray bottle.
