Bare Bum Diaper Care Instructions:

Always wash and dry before use.  Diapers become more absorbent with each wash and dry cycle.  Pre-soak diapers at least 20 minutes.  We like knowing our diapers are good and clean, so we recommend washing on hot in a heavy duty cycle (this may cause diapers to ware faster). You can wash in a regular cycle and air dry to minimize wear and tear.  If you choose to use  “Tide” detergent, use only ½ recommended amount.  “Tide” is known to be gentle to fabrics, but gets the diaper very clean and takes out most stains.   Baby detergents don’t clean as well and will leave a residue film. Using a 2nd rinse is not necessary, but recommended.  DO NOT USE CHLORINE BLEACH!  This will eat the fibers in your diapers causing frayed edges and holes.  We recommend using Tea Tree Oil, which is a natural disinfectant and odor eliminator (available at Wal-Mart).  Use only a few drops, a little goes a long way! Also refrain from using fabric softeners on your diapering items.  Lay diapers in the sun to bleach out any stains.   Please note, the soaker pad will reach its maximum absorbency after 5 washes.

  Wool Care Instructions:

Wool covers allow baby’s skin to breathe, which helps to eliminate diaper rash and regulate baby’s body temperature, which makes them perfect for ANY season, cool in the summer, warm in the winter.  Wool also has the added benefit of being naturally antibacterial, which makes washing only necessary once every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage.  After use, allow cover to air dry 1-2 hours, and it is ready to use again (unless soiled with poo).   Wash your Wool cover if urine can be smelled after cover has dried.

We recommend washing with EUCALAN  Wool Wash.

Wool Lanolizing Instructions:

To do so is easy:  add ½ to 1tsp of lanolin to 1cup boiling water, add a drop of baby soap mix until milky.  Pour into a half full sink of lukewarm water then add Wool.  Gently work Wool for a few seconds then let set for 15 to 20 minutes.  (Water can get cool but not cold as Lanolin will re-solidify).  Drain water while Wool is still in sink to allow lanolin to fully penetrate.  Do not wring out, roll the Wool up in a towel to absorb excess water and lay flat to dry.  (Lanolin can be found at any drugstore in breastfeeding section).

Swim Diapers:

Launder as normal.  Don't wash with any velcro items as it will pull swim material.
